My husband, Rickie, and I have three wonderful children: Cameron, Remi, and Alea. Our journey as parents has taught us to remain open-minded as we learn and grow alongside our kids. In 2015, our oldest, Cameron, was diagnosed with Sprengel's deformity and Klippel-Feil syndrome. Though he met all major milestones, as he got older, we noticed his behavior in social settings was different. After exploring various therapies and testing, Cameron was diagnosed with ADHD and later with Asperger's syndrome. The Bristle Whistle was born out of a missed Tooth Fairy visit, but for me, it's more than just a story—it's a tribute to Cameron's resilience and to Rickie, a dedicated father who deserves recognition in a world where African American fathers are often underrepresented.
